I have known Mr. Michael Cossa of Specific Systems Pty Ltd for a period of approximately three years in my capacity as a member of the Executive Committee of the Glen Towers.

During this period Specific Systems was the successful tenderer to the manufacture and installation of thirty balcony enclosures to our building in Toowong. These enclosures consisted of 100mm x 45mm aluminium, commercial, framed and sliding glass windows atop the new glass balustrades fitted by others.

Following the installation of those balcony enclosures, and during the second half of 2020, Specific System was again the successful tenderer to supply and install replacement windows to twenty three of the twenty four units in our building. All windows within the one hundred and sixty window openings were fitted from within the building, negating the use of scaffolding or other temp external access systems. These windows were a matching finish to those installed on the balconies, thus complementing the building’s glazed façade.

During the course of both these contracts, the staff from Specific Systems have manufactured, supplied and installed all windows and frames to an exacting standard, on time and within budget, whilst constantly maintaining polite, courteous and trustworthy behaviours.

Specific Systems is a very successful company because of the guidance coming from Michael, a man with impeccable ethics and integrity and a matching attitude to commercial matters.

We have had work carried out by Specific Systems for both the Body Corporate and our own two units within the building.

The body corporate had six large fixed glass windows replaced on the front of the building, which required access to six garages in order to carry out the work. The fact that Michael Cossa and his staff were both prompt and reliable made this job a lot easier to organise with the relevant occupants. The job was carried out professionally and everybody was happy with the results.

Michael has also provided measurement and installation services for the body corporate in replacing rear exterior stair balustrades. This was a complicated job due to the varying measurements for each of the five levels. The Specific Systems team displayed patience and exactness in completing this job.

We have received much appreciated advice from Michael on various queries that have arisen in maintaining our 46 year-old brick building comprising 12 units.

Specific Systems replaced balcony doors in each of our two units. Michael gave us many options on the door configurations and type of glass so we ended up with the solution that was right for us.

In 2017 the owners of Glen Towers accepted a quote from Specific Systems to supply and install sliding glass panels to the top of the newly installed glass balustrades on some of the balconies. Not only was the price competitive but the owners were impressed with the amount of time and information Michael Cossa, the director of Specific Systems, gave to us.

During the build he worked harmoniously with the overseeing structural engineer. The installation job was difficult as the windows had to be made to wind pressure regulations and of materials to cope with the marine environment and they had to be installed from within the unit balcony.

The owners of the units were pleased with the behaviour of the workmen who were polite, tidy, respectful, quiet and very obliging.

The result is very happy owners with windows that slide easily and look good. We were so impressed with the workmanship that we didn’t hesitate to accept the quote from Specific Systems to replace all the windows in Glen Towers in 2020 again without scaffolding.

Recently our Body Corporate committee contracted Specific Systems – Commercial Glass to replace internal and external balustrades and doors and windows on our six story, 46 year old strata block of 17 units with fully glassed aluminium framed panels.

It was a major and complicated job.  The work, supervised and carried out by Michael Cossa and his staff could only be described as done to the highest standard.  Attention was given to every detail of design, measurement and installation.  The work was completed on time and the workmen were a pleasure to employ, efficient, polite and always prepared to discuss and resolve any problems that were encountered as the work proceeded.
